ARTISTE
Né en Bretagne, en 1975, d’un père passionné de photographie, et d’une mère contemplatrice et rêveuse devant les paysages qui l’entourent ; il n’en fallait pas plus pour lui donner l’envie de figer ces moments de vie, détails enivrants, doux témoins du passé.
Issu d’un milieu ouvrier, son père technicien d’abattoir en Bretagne et son grand-père opérateur dans les hauts fourneaux en Lorraine, l’envie de témoigner de la trace visible du passage de l’homme, de ces temps oubliés, devient un moteur de ses pensées artistiques.
Il vit désormais au bord de la Méditerranée, en union avec l’envoûtante ambiance maritime. Il y a rencontré trois amis passionnés comme lui d’urbex et du monde ouvrier. De leurs regards croisés sur ces lieux, ils ont créé une association « Les défricheurs.13 ».
Travaillant dans le Var, il explore les serres à l’abandon et au contact des propriétaires, il a pu les photographier.
Devant la beauté des verres et avant qu’ils ne disparaissent à jamais, il décide de récupérer ces matériaux pour les mettre en valeur en y imprimant ses photographies afin de réaliser ses propres œuvres d’art contemporain.
Créer ses œuvres en récupérant le verre et son ossature fut sa première idée, mais la structure était bien trop fragile et elle n’était pas assez esthétique. La création d’un cadre en acier s’imposait pour protéger ce verre et restituer au mieux l’environnement d’où il est issu.
Il axe la plupart de ses recherches photographiques sur les traces du passage de l’homme qui s’estompent au fil du temps : l’abandon, l’oubli et les matières qui se décomposent face aux éléments naturels. Le tout dans une ambiance qui lui est indispensable : « l’univers marin ».
Ses créations sont uniques, elles naissent de ces matériaux au destin compromis, de la matérialisation de son imagination, de son obstination et de la patience nécessaire afin de transformer une idée simple en une identité artistique aboutie.
Ses œuvres photographiques et artistiques sont le fruit de ses inspirations familiales et humaines, enlacées par la matière, gravées dans la texture, renforcées par l’acier et colorées par la vie.
Born in Bretagne, in 1975, of a father passionate about photography, and of a mother contemplating and dreaming in front of the landscapes that surround her; no more was needed to make him want to freeze these moments of life, intoxicating details, sweet witnesses of the past.
From a working class background, his father was a slaughterhouse technician in Bretagne and his grandfather was an operator in blast furnaces in Lorraine, the desire to witness to the visible trace of man’s passage, of these forgotten times, becomes an engine of his artistic thoughts.
He now lives on the shores of the mediterranean, in union with the enchanting maritime atmosphere. There he met three passionate friends like him from urbex and the working world. From their encounters on these sites, they created an association called “Les défricheurs.13”.
Working in the Var, he explores abandoned greenhouses and in contact with the owners, he was able to photograph them.
In front of the beauty of the glasses and before they disappear forever, he decides to recover these materials to enhance them by printing his photographs to make his own contemporary works of art.
Creating his works by recovering the glass and its skeleton was his first idea, but the structure was far too fragile and it was not aesthetic enough. The creation of a steel frame was necessary to protect this glass and restore the environment from which it originated.
He focuses most of his photographic research on the traces of man’s passage that fade over time : abandonment, oblivion and materials that decompose copying with natural elements. All within an atmosphere that is indispensable to him: «the marine universe».
His creations are unique, they are born of these materials with compromised destiny, of the materialization of his imagination, of his obstinacy and of the patience necessary to transform a simple idea into a successful artistic identity.
His photographic and artistic works are the result of his family and human inspirations, embraced by the material, engraved in texture, reinforced by steel and coloured by life.
